The South Yorkshire Transport Rally...

The South Yorkshire Transport Rally has been held by the museum at Meadowhall Coach Park for over 15 years, and it is always well supported, come rain or shine.

This year for the first time the rally will be held at Aldwarke.

Vehicles which attend are usually based in South Yorkshire, the North East and the Midlands, although we have had some vehicles travel from much further. These vehicles have been lovingly restored to their former glory and are on display for you to see, and the owners will be around should you want to ask any questions.

Around 100 vehicles attend the Rally every year, this tends to be mainly buses, although we usually also get a handful of lorries, cars, bikes and military vehicles. If the owners wish, they can have their vehicles judged by our team of devoted judges, who mark the vehicles based on their appearance and condition.

Many of the vehicle owners raise funds for the restoration of their vehicles by having a stall, selling a vast array of transport related items. There are also vintage bus services to and from the Museum to Parkgate Retail Park.


2011’s Rally is scheduled for Sunday 16th September.
