EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY...
We have funding from The Cooperative Society Community Fund to visit or host South Yorkshire primary schools. This funding lasts until December 2012.
We Can Visit You
We will bring our display bus, a 1969 Leyland Atlantean, with an interesting child-centred display, “From Stage Coach to Super Tram”, set out on the lower deck. We can visit morning or afternoon at your choice.
We will bring a two or three person team and can involve one class along with their teacher and any classroom assistants. A visit takes around two hours. All our team are trained and have been CRB vetted.
We will need hard standing for the bus. It has its own generator but we may need to run an extension cable in case of failure.
One third of the class are taken on the bus at any one time so the others will need to remain in their classroom.
You Can Visit Us
We will fetch one class of children in one of our heritage buses and return them to school after the visit. Allowing for the journey, each visit will take a whole morning or afternoon.
At the museum the class will be split into three groups for three activities i.e. Museum Tour, Workshop Tour and Art Work.
The workshop tour allows the children to inspect the vehicles and touch appropriate materials. We take safety very seriously and in this area the children will be under close supervision.
The children will receive an activity book and pencil to take away with them.
We can also visit community events in South Yorkshire.
For more information on any of the above please e-mail info@sytm.co.uk
Remember, this is free until December 2012 but donations are always welcome!
